Legal Notice for Use and Liability of Freego Electric Vehicles

Product Classification and Regulatory Compliance

1.1 Electric Bicycle (E-Bikes) Series

Freego electric bicycle models are designed as personal mobility vehicles. Regulations for electric bicycles vary significantly by country, state, and municipality, and are typically classified based on their maximum assisted speed, motor power, and functionality.

All Freego electric bikes leave the factory with a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) and a motor power rating of 750W . These specifications are designed to align with common standards in various regions. However, final legal compliance depends on the specific regulations in force where the product is used.

User Responsibility:

  • Legal Compliance: It is the user's sole responsibility to research, understand, and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and municipal ordinances in their locality regarding the use of electric bicycles. This includes, but is not limited to: speed limits, permitted routes, registration requirements, driver's licenses, insurance, minimum age, and lane usage.
  • Safety Equipment: The driver must always use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as a certified helmet, visible clothing and appropriate footwear, in accordance with local regulations and best safety practices.
  • Modifications: Modifying the vehicle's factory settings, components, or software to alter its speed, power, or functionality is strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized modification will void the warranty, compromise safety, and may constitute a legal violation.

1.2 Series of Off-Road Motorcycles (Dirt Bikes)

Freego offers two lines of electric all-terrain vehicles: Freego X-Man and Freego Nova.

Freego Nova Series

The Freego Nova series comprises high-performance all-terrain motorcycles. Since their top speeds exceed 28 mph (45 km/h) and they lack pedal assist, these vehicles may be classified as motorized vehicles subject to homologation under Mexican law.

Therefore, they are neither designed nor authorized for use on public roads. Their use is intended exclusively for controlled environments such as:

  • Private property, with the express consent of the owner.
  • Tracks, circuits or areas specifically designated for off-road use.
  • Other non-public areas where its use is expressly permitted.

Freego X-Man Series

The Freego X-Man series incorporates a dual-mode operating system:

  • City Mode: In this mode, the speed is electronically limited to 28 mph (45 km/h) and engine power is restricted. These parameters are intended to align with standards for certain mobility vehicles in some regions. The legality of its use on public roads depends entirely on applicable municipal and state traffic regulations. It is the user's responsibility to verify compliance.
  • Off-Road Mode: This mode unlocks the vehicle's full performance and It is intended for use only on private land or designated off-road areas. It does not meet the requirements for use on public roads.
